The Bunker is a historic WWII site once used as an integral part of communications and training during wartime. With the help of Rotary, the Bunker has been renovated to house Australia’s first and only dedicated National Cartoon Gallery, with a more recent expansion to include the National Holden Motor Museum.
The City maintains a wide range of public reserves, parks and beaches and regularly receive requests to use or hire these spaces for private and public functions. The core purpose of these public recreation areas is for free and open use for the general public on a first in first use basis. As such, the City does not book public recreation areas for private functions or events with the exception of wedding ceremonies.
