Peninsula Hot Springs

Thermal springs venue

Fingal, VIC

About this venue

Founded in 1997 by brothers Charles and Richard Davidson, Peninsula Hot Springs was inspired by Charles’s experience visiting hot springs in Japan in 1992. Drawing on their travels worldwide, the Davidsons envisioned an Australian-style retreat that blends seamlessly with the natural landscape. Today, our site features 70 distinct bathing and wellness experiences, each reflecting different traditions from around the globe. Our journey starts with a deep connection — to people and nature’s vital element, water. It was sparked by two brothers sharing a family dream, influenced by their global experiences, and driven by a goal to introduce the healing benefits of hot springs to Australia. Today, this spirit of connection continues to inspire everything we do, shaping a warm and inviting environment where families, friends, and loved ones can come together to experience the revitalising power of geothermal water. Hot springs bathing holds profound significance worldwide, with each culture embracing its own customs and traditions. In Japan, it is a ritual of purification and cleanliness; in the Nordic regions, a tradition of healing and revitalisation. At Peninsula Hot Springs, our mineral-rich waters continue this timeless practice, offering benefits that range from deeper, more restful sleep to improved circulation, just some of the many reasons to immerse yourself in our water. With hot springs in nearly every corner of the world, we embrace and celebrate the global tradition of bathing, a timeless practice that brings people together in shared wellbeing. Guided by founder and Creative Director Charles Davidson in partnership with co-owner Bharat Mitra, the Peninsula Hot Springs Group includes Peninsula Hot Springs, Metung Hot Springs and Maruia Hot Springs.

The Arts & Culture program at Peninsula Hot Springs is designed to inspire connection, within ourselves, with each other, and with the rich traditions that shape our community. Through music, performance, dance, storytelling, and arts practice, our year-round calendar celebrates both global collaborations and local partnerships, including our ongoing work with the traditional owners of the Mornington Peninsula, the Boonwurrung and Bunurong people of the Kulin Nation, whose cultural knowledge and perspectives are respectfully woven into many of our programs.
