About this venue
The SYC has its own social golf group. We are well supported and at present average over twenty players at each outing including both male and female members. The courses are selected at the end of the year, in December say, for the upcoming year and include the best on the Gold Coast and near environs. Stableford is the game of choice at most events and handicapping is applied according to our own special system which is fair and works well in practice. All events have generous prizes for the winners and the most serious competition is for the Commodores Trophy, a perpetual trophy which stands proudly in the glass cabinet at the club, and a trophy on which every seafaring golfer worth his salt wishes to have his name inscribed. Each year rounds up with the annual Christmas party held at the club where everyone has a good time and the Commodores Trophy is presented.
